Maggie Grace is an American actress born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most well-known roles are Shannon Rutherford, a character in ABC's Lost series as well as Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Maggie Grace, originally from Worthington from Ohio left high school and moved in Los Angeles after her divorced parents. She's a Gyllenhaal. daughters of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), she is a bit younger in age than Jake Gyllenhaal. Her first roles were in the films of her father in his adolescent years. Together with her brother she also appeared on the screen in Donnie Darko (2000). The next film she appeared in was Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002, and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal's lead roles in Secretary, an erotico-romantic comedy, and Sherrybaby (a film) have earned her nominations to the Golden Globe Award. Her fame grew for her role as Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008), thanks to several successful commercials she appeared in in the year 2006. For her performance as a single mother, in Crazy Heart (2009) she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Her subsequent roles include Nanny McPhee, in the Big Bang and Hysteria. The other roles she played were an agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013), a Secret Service agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013) as well as a singer in the film Frank (2014) as well as her role as the lead in the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). In 2021 Gyllenhaal was able to make her writing and directing debut with the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter for which she received an award at the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated to win the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
